Project: Wetlands

“We will protect, restore and enhance the values and benefits Minnesotans receive from wetlands, adding to their quantity, quality and biological diversity.”

In September 2006, the Governor asked the Clean Water Cabinet to lead a review of Minnesota’s wetland conservation efforts with the goals of better targeting spending on wetland restorations and doing more to limit the loss of wetlands. In response, the Cabinet, through the Board of Water and Soil Resources is leading a process for assessing provisions of the Wetland Conservation Act. BWSR and DNR are also jointly leading cabinet efforts to coordinate spending, policy and partnerships to implement the Cabinet’s priority strategies.
